Intense, ultramarine-blue Lapis was one of the first gems used as jewelry, appearing throughout the Mediterranean as early as 4000 B.C. Lapis’ clear, unsaturated blue still glows in paintings by the ancient masters.
Lapis is rated “fair” for everyday wear with care. Avoid exposure to heat, contact with chemicals, and protect form scratches and harsh blows. To clean, gently scrub with a soft toothbrush and a solution of mild dish soap and warm water.
