It was the summer of 1992 when Myron Jr. came to Kingman with 2 friends to deliver some honey. They decided to stop at the Pizza hut, while they were eating pizza a family walked in, it was then that he first saw Angelika, it was love at first sight. He knew he wanted to see her again, so when he left the Pizza hut he wrote a small note on a napkin and gave it with a candy to the waitress and ask her to give it to the family's daughter. On the napkin he had written:
"I take this moment of my time to compliment the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen, and I would love to see them once again. If you like to go out some time call me. 765-2229"
The waitress gave the napkin to Angelika talked to her for a minute and returned to Myron and told him that she found out that the family was not from the United States but from the Netherlands, and that they were here for summer holiday. Myron left, disappointed he thought he would never hear from Angelika ever again. To his surprise she called him that same night from her hotel.
They became pen pals for a year, when Myron had the opportunity to surprise Angelika in Holland. He bought tickets to Amsterdam and called her up 1 day before he was going to surprise her. She told him that she was on summer holiday in Italy… There was no time to change his tickets so he went over to plan B, landed the next day on Amsterdam rented a car at the airport and drove to Italy in 2 days. It was on the beach in Rimini Italy where they had their first date. They spend that summer holiday together, head over heels in love with each other. Every next holiday Myron and Angelika traveled back and forth between The U.S.A. and The Netherlands to see each other, they dated for 1.5 year when Myron asked Angelika to marry him.
One day Myron went to the post office to see if he received any mail from Angelika, he had received a package, when he opened the package he froze and his heart broke to see his engagement ring without any explanation as to why Angelika sent it back to him. Every call and every letter he wrote remained unanswered.
25 years went by, and both of them lived their own lives, without each other but always in each other's hearts. It was Angelika's grandmother who told her before she died, never regret the things you did, regret the things you never did. Angelika looked Myron up on Facebook and saw that he was single and got his address. When Angelika was in the United States for a small holiday she picked up the courage and showed up in his jewelry store without any notice. Myron was helping a customer when he looked up from his work and saw Angelika after 25 years, and recognized her in a heartbeat. Their love for each other had never died and when Angelika explained the reason why she had to send her ring back, that it was not for another man, Myron forgave her for all the pain that she caused him. They become pen pals again only now, with cell phones and emails, and every next holiday she traveled back and forth to the United States to see the love of her life. They dated for 1 year when Myron asked her again to marry him. This time she said yes and 26 years later they got married May 11th 2018, at the ST. Johns Church in Kingman Arizona.
